During the seminar on “Embryo Biopsy Techniques for Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis”, held in Denmark on the 6th and 7th of October, Ms. Alexia Chatziparasidou, Clinical Embryologist, Director and founding member of Embryolab Academy and Dr. Martine Nijs, Clinical Embryologist, Director of Research and Development, Consultant of Embryolab Academy, trained the participants on advanced biopsy techniques as applied in the laboratories of Embryolab, with excellent results.
The Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis is one of the most state of the art and significant methods used in IVF that enables couples who have increased risk of having a child with a genetic disease, to take control of their embryos. This sharply increases the probability of having a healthy child. When PGD is implemented, a biopsy is performed in the embryos during which, genetic material is removed with a microsurgical method and examined to determine which of these embryos are healthy
Embryolab Academy aims at disseminating innovative practices and methods through the organization, by organizing training seminars around the world.
