The Head of Embryolab’s laboratory was a guest speaker at a scientific Symposium in the Netherlands.
“Selecting the best embryo – What is our data today?” was the subject of the Scientific Symposium held in Geertgen Holland in early June.
Invited by the organizing Assisted Reproduction Unit Nij Geertgeen, the Head of Embryolab’s laboratory, Mrs. Alexia Chatziparasidou, Sr. Clinical Embryologist, presented the most recent and unpublished data on the efficacy of cryopreserved oocytes from stimulatory or natural cycles, and new data regarding the maintenance of female fertility.
Oocyte cryopreservation has enabled thousands of women around the world to preserve their fertility, as well as cancer patients to protect it against the toxic effects of chemotherapy.
Oocyte Cryopreservation is becoming a very endearing option for women, who due to the new social realities, choose to prioritize their studies and their careers, consequencing in delaying their decision to start a family for later in the future.
Fertility preservation in this group of women provides the possibility of having a child with their own eggs in ages prohibited in the past!
“The new social realities have changed our priorities. As a result, young women are increasingly giving priority to education and vocational rehabilitation, postponing their plans to start a family for later.
The newer, however, scientific data indicate that a woman’s age remains an important parameter.
Scientists during this seminar confirmed the need for awareness among young women around the world, either to seek to start a family earlier, or, if this is not feasible, to choose the fertility preservation procedure, in order to seal time, thus, their right to motherhood” Mrs. Chatziparasidou emphasized.
