The age limit for women undergoing IVF treatment in Greece has been extended to 52 years.
The decision was taken by the Ministry of Health, upon the recommendation of the National Authority for Medically Assisted Reproduction, as the pandemic has delayed the treatment of thousands of couples.
This decision gives the opportunity to many couples and women to complete their treatments, or to start new ones.
This positive development has come into effect following parliamentary approval and its official announcement in the Greek Government’s Gazzete.
The extended age limit will help significantly those who had put their treatments and plans on hold due to the pandemic restrictions.
Couples and women from abroad are expected to benefit the most as they will now have the necessary time and the ability to proceed forward with their treatments despite the various pandemic travel restrictions and conditions.
