Embryolab Fertility Clinic, with responsibility and based on the current developments, adopts the recommendations of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) and the National Authority for Medical Assisted Reproductive of Health, EAIs. Covid-19 coronavirus infection.
We recommend to women who wish to have an IVF treatment, to avoid pregnancy during this time, even if they do not meet the diagnostic criteria for Covid-19 infection. For women who have already undergone ovulation induction, we recommend postponing pregnancy by freezing oocytes or embryos and to proceed with a subsequent embryo transfer.
Embryolab’s administration board as well as all our dedicated staff, we are all committed to continue our work. We keep a close eye on developments and tailor our action plan with the sole focus of providing high quality Assisted Reproduction services, efficiently and with safety to everyone. We will inform you immediately of any new developments or changes.
For the protection and safety, against the coronavirus (COVID-19), of our employees, couples and collaborators and in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Health and the EODY, we inform you of the following preventive measures taken by Embryolab:
- Embryolab’s scientific and educational meetings have been canceled and replaced with more flexible forms of communication, such as telephone appointments and web communication.
- Antiseptic liquid bases have been installed in all areas to allow visitors to disinfect their hands.
- Our guests are given a protective mask and gloves throughout their presence at the clinic.
- Symptomatic visitors are taken to a specially dedicated area.
- The clinic’s entrance and exit are controlled at all times.
- Only one escort per patient is allowed.
- Informative messages are sent to everyone who has scheduled an appointment.
- The program is designed in such a way, to avoid overcrowding in the public areas.
- The cleaning staff’s shifts has been tripled and the disinfection in public areas with special disinfectants is even more intensive now.
- The way in which infectious waste is handled ensures that everything remains sealed in non-puncturable bags.
- All members of the Embryolab Team have received individual antiseptic packages for their regular and personal use.
- All Embryolab’s personnel is checked for their temperature on a daily basis in the morning when arriving at the facility.
- Everyone at Embryolab is instructed to wear a protective mask.
- There is an in house General Practitioner present at Embryolab daily.
- A specialized protocol for safeguarding our Andrology and Embryology Laboratory and its staff has been created and implemented.
- Special category collaborators like delivery supply drivers, carriers are controlled for their temperature and only deliver in a specially designed space outside the Clinic.
- Clear instructions have been given to all Embryolab staff on preventive measures as well as information on the nature of the problem (according to the official Guidelines).
- The premises are regularly ventilated, all shared surfaces (i.e. knobs, switches, toilets & kitchen surfaces) are constantly disinfected under supervision.
- 6 special antibacterial atmospheric ionizers have been installed in busy areas of the clinic and 8 others will be gradually installed.
- Antiseptic liquid bases have been installed at key points at the clinic, but also in each department, so that all employees have access, and in addition, rubber gloves have been provided for those who come in contact with potential sources of contamination (i.e. money or documents, etc.).
- Employees are regularly updated by the HR Department and their managers on developments and potential new guidance.
- As for traveling abroad, people who have recently visited areas of the red zone have been banned and employees have generally been asked to avoid traveling that is not of an urgent need. If one is forced to travel, then he is obliged to stay away from the clinic for 14 days.
- Employees have been given clear instructions on how to communicate if they feel unwell or have “suspicious” symptoms (i.e EODY telephone and contact person), in order to protect Embryolab’s human resources, our couples and coworkers.
- All of the above are reviewed and updated daily by an Embryolab team specialized on Risk Management who are constantly updated on the situation.
