The 7th educational symposium of Embryolab Academy was held on September 14-15, 2016 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, invited by the South America Assisted Reproduction Agency (REDLARA), the Embryologists’ Unions (Pronucleo) and the Assisted Reproductive Units (SBRA), Brazil.
During the symposium on “Quality and Risk Management in IVF laboratories. From theory to practice “, distinguished scientists from Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, the USA, Greece and Brazil undertook to analyze the key principles of implementing and supporting quality systems in Assisted Reproduction laboratories. Particular emphasis was given to the need for systematic prevention, risk analysis and accreditation of all processes in order to ensure the highest levels of quality and results.
The Academy was represented by Dr. Martine Nijs, Director of the Academy and Mrs. Alexia Chatziparasidou, Sr. Clinical Embryologist founding member of the Academy and director of Embryolab assisted reproduction unit, who said:
“Assisted reproduction units perform a very important task and it is essential to provide the highest levels of quality in their service. Countries such as Brazil, and organizations such as REDLARA recognize the importance of implementing and supporting quality systems in the assisted reproduction units. It is a great honor that the world’s scientific community is addressed in our Academy recognizing its pioneering educational activity. ”
In this educational symposium scientists from all assisted reproductive units of Brazil, as well as Peru and Chile, attended interactively with experts. They were updated and discussed issues related to daily practice and operational procedures of the units.
